MTOC Summary

North Andover soccer teams performed beyond expectations this spring.  Out of 24 travel teams, we sent 11 to the Essex County playoffs.  Five of the 11 went on to play in the Massachusetts Tournament of Champions (MTOC).  We are proud to have the Red Hot Chilis go all the way to become the state champions.  We are also very proud of the performance of the other four teams.  MTOC is very challenging; the "best of the best" play.   Look at the scores - most are very close games.  All our teams performed with respectable results.

Red Hot Chilis: Girls U16, coached by Jen Houlihan, Jim Killilea and Camille Maren. Won the State Championship!

Beat Bellingham  2-0, beat Abington 1-0, beat Wilmington 4-0, beat Whitman 2-1 in the semifinal, and in the final, beat Mariner 2-0.

Xplosion: Boys U14, coached by Tom Zahoruiko

Beat Berkshire Hills 3-2, lost to Fall River 1-2 and beat Pembroke 2-0

United: Boys U18, coached by Anton den Boggende

Tied Sandwich 1-1, lost to Wilmington 0-3 and tied kidsAFik 0-0

Knight Hawks: Girls U14, coached by Chris Cool

Runnin' Rebels: Girls U16 playing against U18 teams, coached by Patrick Duffy

Lost to Dracut 0-1, lost 0-2 to Bridgewater and tied Maynard 0-0

Special Note: The Runnin' Rebels won the Sportsmanship Award for the U18 Girls Division.  This award is determine by referees and tournament officials. That shows a lot of class for the Runnin' Rebels.
